History of Action Figures

In 1964, G.I. Joe is the first action figures that was named by Hasbro for marketing to boys who wouldn't play with dolls. G.I. Joe was a military 11.5-inch figure that can be changed clothes. Hasbro licensed G.I.Joe in every market that Hasbro sold it.
This product was sold in USA , English and other country. In Japan, Tsukuda company munufacture and sell Action Man , Hasbro sublicense . Other company,Takara produce and sell G.I.Joe toys in Japan,Including Henshin Cybrog-1 GI Joe. In oil supply cirsis of the 1970s Takara try to save cost by developing smaller cybrog toy , called Microman. It was first sold in 1974 being origined smaller toys and transforming robot toy.
Until 1971 , Mego corporation began making American marvel and DC comic book superhero figures ,highly successful sales and considered collectible by adults now. Mega brought the Microman toy from Japan and sold in USA. as Micronauts.
Later 1976 , Kenner Products lunched Star Wars 3-3/4" toy and highly cuccessful. By Star Wars selling ,led to multi-million dollar collectible action figures business.

Or another movies such as Starwar ,Private carribbean, Spiderman , Ninja turtle , Pokemon, etc. Toys manufacturing companies get idea from movie to produce small miniatures or small models of these robots . And called Action Figures. Action Figures have been produced by toys company for a long time. Since movie industry was a small market and Most kids read or see only cartoon. Not same as now, Having many media to be transmit to people for consume such as movie, video game, television programmes.
Action Figures may be realistic or iconic . Depending on intention of Designer. The original types were made of dirt, clay , stone, wood. Then they were developed to be made of glass, metal, ceramic , finally plastic , etc.
At present , Action Figures are popular and acceptable in every age range. In addition , They are popular for adult age as collector item. Adults are young heart who have memory in child time about their hero action figure.
